Mindful May – Day 30

A great way to be mindful and to use all your senses is when you are eating.

Often we eat in a hurry, we multi task, busy doing other things as our lives are so hectic that we we aren’t just focusing on our food and don’t really taste it!

Use all your senses next time you eat – look at the food like you have never seen it before, touch it, smell it, listen to it all before you taste. Before you bring it to your mouth, notice what is happening in your body, maybe your tummy rumbling? your mouth watering? Think with gratitude about the journey the food has had to get to you as you take a few mindful breaths.Very slowly taste it savouring every mouthful.

It takes longer but try it, you may be surprised by the clarity of tastes.
