Mindful May – Day 23

How many times have you driven on automatic pilot?
I know I have been guilty of being consumed by so many thoughts, that I haven’t given my full attention to the road and cannot recall the journey – am sure you know what I mean?
However, driving is one activity we simply MUST be completely present for.

Bring mindfulness into it – before you start your car, just sit for a moment, take a few mindful breaths and appreciate the amazing machine that is going to get you from A to B. Feel your feet on the pedals, your hands on the steering wheel.

If you are aware of your thoughts drifting off as you drive, bring them back to your body and your breathe and enjoy the journey!
